EU-Africa e-alert: Focus on the institutional future of the African Union

An extraordinary Council of Ministers will take place on 17-18 November in order to discuss the institutional future of the African Union, which will also be one of the key topics of the next AU Summit in January 2007. Some of the main issues are the role of the AU Commission and the delegation of powers it will be granted by AU Member States. The editorial and comments below are contributions to this debate.
