In the first follow up meeting to the Lisbon African-EU Summit, African and European experts met on the 4th of February in Addis Ababa to discuss the implementation of the Joint Strategy and Action Plan. During the meeting the two parties have laid down their views on the implementation of the Joint Strategy and its first Action Plan and have agreed to inform each other on the outcomes of their respective internal consultations. For the next EU-AU Ministerial Troika to be held in 28 April 2008, both sides have decided to present a joint consolidated proposal on the architecture, mechanism and methodology for the implementation and an indicative timeline. Respectively, the Joint expert working groups that h.ave been agreed in the Action Plan, shall discuss and agree on their working arrangements, their programme, implementation roadmap, financing mechanisms and early deliverables.
