MDGs should be the driving force of the EU-AU strategy in its political and economic as well as social dimensions, says UN office in Brussels.
Specifically, some of the key challenges include:
- reversing current low budgetary commitments to health on the part of many African governments
- reducing hunger and malnutrition
- sustainable urbanization
- linking between development and security agendas
