Civil society in Cameroon on the Joint Strategy

A civil society workshop in Cameroon took place in Yaoundé on 31 May 2007. Hosted by COSADER (Collectif des ONG pour la Sécurité Alimentaire et le Développement Rural) and initiated by the Cameroon civil society platform “Jeudi de Cotonou”, twenty organisations discussed the Joint EU-Africa Strategy.

The participating organisations represented different groups and themes of civil society: youth, the environment, governance/human rights, food security/sovereignty, religious faiths, unions, academia and education, health/HIV, culture, monitoring of public policies, and debt.

The workshop’s purpose was to formulate proposals on the various thematic clusters of the Strategy, based on the work that has already been carried out.
