In the sidelines of the 12th African Union Summit, the ad-hoc delegation for relations with the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) and its counterpart from the PAP met the Commissions and Presidencies of the African and European Unions.
At the request of the two parliaments, they agreed on the institutional role of the parliaments in the establishment and monitoring of the Joint Africa-EU Strategy, thereby enhancing its democratic legitimacy. Basis for the discussion is a joint EP-PAP proposal.
