The on-going ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly in Prague, Czech Republic involves meetings of the Committee on Economic Development, Finance and Trade, the Committee on Political Affairs, and the Committee on Social Affairs and the Environment.
On the agenda of the Committee on Economic Development, Finance and Trade is the draft report on the EPAs and their potential impact on the ACP states, and the draft report of the impact of the financial crisis on ACP states.
Relevant issues dealt with by the Committee on Political Affairs are the based on the draft report on challenges to the democratic accomodation of ethnic, cultural and religious diversity in the ACP and EU countries, exchange of views based on the working document on global governance and the reform of international organisations and exchange of views on the political situation in ACP and EU countries.
The social and environmental consequences of climate change in the ACP countries, social and cultural integration and the participation of young people and decision on the subject of the next report are on the agenda of the Committee on Social Affairs and the Environment.
Resolutions and draft reports will be adopted by the end of the parliamentary meetings on the 8th of April 2009. More information will be provided on the website end of the week.
