According to the African Union, a meeting to inform EU Parliamentarians on the Africa-European Union strategic partnership was held on Monday 6 April 2009, at the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Initiated by the European Union delegation to the African Union and the President of the Czech Republic, the meeting was an opportunity for the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mr. Jean Ping, to share his vision on the partnership with parliamentarians gathered in Addis Ababa, within the framework of the Inter-Parliamentarian Union meeting.
