On Monday, 22 June, Minister for EU Affairs Cecilia Malmström and Minister for Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt met journalists in Brussels and spoke about the political priorities for Sweden’s EU Presidency.
On 22 June, Minister for Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt and Minister for EU Affairs Cecilia Malmström presented the Swedish Presidency’s priorities for several hundred journalists at a press conference in Brussels. After the presentation, the Minister for EU Affairs and the Minister for Foreign Affairs answered questions from the media. The journalists wanted to hear about the Swedish Presidency’s views on issues including:
the climate negotiations ahead of Copenhagen
the future of the Lisbon Treaty
the economic and financial crisis
Turkey’s membership of the EU
the situation in Iran
the situation in the Western Balkans
