Joint AU/EU Communiqué of the 6th Joint Coordination Committee of the African Peace Facility

According to its Joint AU/EU Communiqué, the 6th meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee of the African Peace Facility (APF), held in Addis Ababa on the 3rd of February 2010, mainly (1) recalled the conclusions of the recent relevant events, (2) underlined the discussion on the challenges encountered in the implementation of the 1st African Peace Facility and the related recommendations and proposals made, including the need to ensure coherence of between the APF and all funding sources available for African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA) managed by the European Commission, (3) and agreed on the objectives and key priorities for the future, in particular with regard to the “first set of measures” to be funded from the 2nd APF, 10th European Development Fund (EDF). Lastly, the Communiqué recognized the need for strengthened cooperation and coordination between the AU and its partners.
