Joint statement of the European Union – Morocco Summit – 7 March 2010, Granada

This joint statement, which was released at the conclusion of the European Union-Morocco Summit, held in Granada (Spain) on 7 March 2010, mainly focus on the first steps made towards the consolidation of the advanced status in the relationship between the EU and Morocco, since a joint document to this effect was adopted in October 2008. It also took stock of progress achieved and defined new opportunities with regard to strengthening their partnership in responding to regional and global challenges. In addition, the statement refers several times to the Joint Africa-EU Strategy, including the critical role played by Morocco has played in climate change and peace and security partnerships.
