Spanish EU Presidency Seminar on “Strengthening Regional Integration in West Africa: What Role for the European Union?”, 11-12 May 2010, in Brussels

Spanish EU Presidency website. This high-level seminar by the Spanish presidency, to be held in Brussels on 11-12 May 2010, will enable an in-depth exchange of ideas on the priorities for the process of regional integration in West Africa and EU support for this process. The discussion will focus on four themes, namely the Millennium Development Goals (with emphasis on food safety), migration and development, peace and security and the coordination of various development strategies. The seminar will be attended by European and West African ministers, their respective ambassadors in Brussels, representatives of the Member States, members of the ECOWAS Commission, the UEMOA (West African Economic and Monetary Union) and the EC as well as by representatives from NGOs, civil society and the private sector.
