EARN Conference on the Perspectives for Europe-Africa Relations – 7 June 2010, in Lisbon

Since the last EU-Africa Summit in 2007, a new framework has been established to jointly address common concerns and global challenges, including on peace and security, governance, trade, energy, climate change, amongst others. Looking ahead to the third EU-Africa Summit, to be held in November 2010, this conference will provide a timely opportunity to debate what are the main achievements, difficulties and challenges ahead in implementing this partnership. The conference will be divided into two sessions: the discussion will first focus on the EU-Africa relations in the context of a changing World and then turn to the perspectives for the Joint Africa-EU Strategy and the next Summit.
